VISIT

In October 2023 the Historical Society purchased the Fresno Morning Republican Newspaper Printery building to house its Archive.  The Nationally Registered Historic Place was built in 1919 and still houses the original printing press used to print the newspaper until 1932. 

Building Tours are available and include: Building & Future Plans Tour, Gallery Tour of the From China to Fresno: A 150-Year Cultural Journey exhibit, Viewing of the original 1919 Fresno Morning Republican Newspaper Printing Press and McClatchy Collection newspapers as well and Pop Laval Collection photographs, glass negatives and cameras.

PRIVATE GROUP TOURS

Private tours are available for groups of ten or more by appointment only.

You may choose Tours of Kearney Mansion Museum & Gallery which include: Free admission to Kearney Park, a docent-led tour of the Kearney Mansion Museum and access to the Gallery featuring a rotating exhibition of objects, photos and ephemera from the Society Archives.

Or choose a tour of The Archive on Kern, located at 2120 Kern Street in downtown Fresno that will include Building & Future Plans Tour, Gallery Tour of the From China to Fresno: A 150-Year Cultural Journey exhibit, Viewing of the original 1919 Fresno Morning Republican Newspaper Printing Press and McClatchy Collection newspapers as well and Pop Laval Collection photographs, glass negatives and cameras.

$8.00 per guest. You will be required to pay a 50% advance deposit at the time of booking.

SCHOOL TOURS

Bring your class on a field trip to the Kearney Mansion Museum and Gallery or to The Archive on Kern.

$8.00 per student and/or chaperone.  Teacher and one chaperone are admitted free of charge.

You will be required to pay a 50% advance deposit at the time of booking.  The remaining balance is due at the start of your tour.
