About the event
This evening of poetry, food and friends is sure to offer stimulating conversation in a unique setting that you are sure to enjoy and remember.
John Cho's book, 88 Poems by Cho, has been called a heartfelt collection with a wide-range of reflections rooted in wonder and imagination. The language is direct and full of questions about the personal, the sociopolitical, and the cultural - much like John himself.
Born in 1952, year of the dragon, John Cho recalls gazing out of the family's apartment window in Sam Francisco's Chinatown and seeing the Great Star Theater on Jackson Street. His parents were immigrants from China. The family's odyssey into the Central Valley ended when his parents established their small restaurant, Cho's Kitchen, in Selma. John Cho is a retired Asian American Studies professor from Fresno City College.
This event is made possible in part by the City of Fresno Measure…
