Beyond the river stretches the interminable prairie, where the fields of harvested wheat lie wrapped in slumber; . . . . The light stealing upon the broad shadows, first touches the tops of the prairie wagons. . . . Then, making more and more progress, it shines. . . and at last, in full glory of splendor, brings out the yellow of the cultivated fields and the course brown of the sandy soil.

Be A Volunteer

We always welcome volunteers at the Civil War Revisited event.  The event wouldn’t happen without the support of what has become over the years an army of terrific volunteers.

If you would like to help support the event as a volunteer we would love to hear from you.  There are a number of volunteer opportunities connected with the event, including:

Old Glory Mercantile   Assist with sales in the Historical Society event mercantile - helping customers locate merchandise and assist with restocking needs. Also need volunteers to help in the mercantile during the Friday "Time Travelers at the Civil War".

Children's Games Tent  Demonstrate Civil War games that children played in the 1860s.

Information Booth   Answer general questions about the event, hand out the schedule of events, sell raffle & Camp Night tickets, study guides and memberships.  Training will be provided.
