Volunteer dates for 2017 Civil War Revisited:

Thursday, October 19 through Sunday, October 22, 2017

We always welcome volunteers at the Civil War Revisited event.  The event wouldn’t happen without the support of what has become over the years an army of terrific volunteers!

Volunteers receive free admittance to the Civil War Revisited!!


Volunteers needed for the "Time Travelers at the Civil War" Education Days - Thursday, October 19 & Friday, October 20. These Education Days are the foundation of our event and are open by reservation to thousands of students from various school districts throughout the Central Valley. Your help is appreciated in bringing this opportunity to our Valley students.

Volunteers needed for the Civil War Revisited Weekend on Saturday, October 21 & Sunday, October 22. Extra help is always appreciated for take down on Sunday the 22rd and a few volunteer positions are available on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 17 & 18 for set-up help. We are happy to fulfill school and community service requirements.

Examples of Civil War Revisited volunteer opportunities:


Mercantile Area

Assist with sales in the Historical Society event mercantile area - helping customers locate merchandise and assist with restocking needs. Also need volunteers to help in the mercantile during the Thursday & Friday "Time Travelers at the Civil War"Education Days.


Children's Games Tent

Demonstrate Civil War games that children played in the 1860s.


Admission / Information Booth

Collect admission or hand out schedule of events, answer general questions about the event, sell meal tickets, and memberships. Training will be provided. 


Volunteer/ Staff Gate

Admit staff, volunteers, artisans, & musicians & direct them to special parking area


Beer Booth

Must be 21 and over to serve.


Take Down

Assist on Sunday evening between from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm to take down the event 


Shifts are generally 3 – 3 ½ hours long.  You may choose to work one or both days. All of our volunteers receive free admittance to the event, and most come early or stay after their volunteer shift to enjoy all of the activities.
