Please note:
Kearney Mansion Museum is located in the center of Kearney Park. The park is rented for special events throughout the year that require admission fees. Please call the Historical Society office at 559-441-0862 to determine if any park-wide events are being held the weekend of your anticipated visit.

School and Group Tours

School tours are available Tuesday-Friday mornings beginning at 9:30 am. The museum’s education program includes a standards-based docent tour of the house museum and teacher-led history activities in the Carriage House Education Center that feature a one-room schoolhouse experience, images of children living in pioneer Fresno, and a History Detective exercise.

Group tours may be scheduled to accommodate an organization’s needs (mornings or afternoons). A minimum of 12 guests is required. Tours must be booked at least two weeks in advance, and a non-refundable deposit must be received at least one week before the tour date.

Parking

We ask that tour visitors park in the lot directly across from the museum.

 

Special Accommodations

The museum is wheelchair accessible to the first floor. A handicap lift is located at the southwest corner of the porch. Our staff will be happy to assist you.

 

Museum Store

Hours: Tuesday-Friday, 10 am to 4 pm (Call before coming to the store during the week to ensure staff is available). A visit to the museum store is included during the public tours of the museum.

Special features of the museum store include a large array of traditional children’s toys and bookshelves stocked with California and regional history titles.

 

Kearney Park

Historic Kearney Park is located approximately 7 miles from downtown Fresno. The 125-acre park provides a wonderful site for a picnic of family gathering. To make a reservation for a large gathering, call Fresno County Parks at 559-488-3004.

 

Directions to Kearney Park

From 99 South (Northern California)
Take the Fresno Street exit and turn right. Go past two stoplights and turn right onto Kearney Boulevard (arch – follow signs for Chandler Airport) and rive approximately 7 miles. The road changes names to Madison – but turns back into Kearney Boulevard after Cornelia. Turn left into Kearney Park and follow the signs to the Mansion. (The park is 7 miles west of downtown Fresno.)

From 99 North (Southern California)

From Grantland Avenue
South on Grantland to Kearney Boulevard (dead-end) and turn left. Drive approximately ¼ mile and turn right into Kearney Park. Follow the signs to the house museum.

From Clovis
Take 168 West to 180 West to the signal where it ends (Hughes/West Diagonal). Turn left and curve right back onto 180 West. Turn left onto Cornelia Avenue (cemetery on southwest corner). From Madera
Take 145 South to Kerman. Turn left on Kearney Boulevard (2nd light) and drive approximately 7 miles. Turn right into Kearney Park and follow the signs to the Mansion.
